Process Document

Logging In to Maggie Visser’s Squarespace Account
  1. Go to www.squarespace.com.

  2. Click the LOG IN link on the upper right corner of page.

  3. Enter the “Email Address” and “Password” (Check with Maggie)

  4. After successfully logging in to Maggie’s account, you will be directed to the Dashboard.

  5. Select the current/active website with the domain www.maggievisser.com by clicking either the thumbnail photo of the website or the GO TO link on the right side of the page and click the WEBSITE link.

Updating The Contents on Maggie’s Homepage
Maggie’s Stats
  1. Go to Pages and select homepage (Home) from the Not Linked pages.

  2. Click EDIT at the upper left corner of the page.

  3. Double click on the Code Block and the Content window will pop up on right side of the page.

  4. Update Maggie’s stats inside the Heading/h3 Tag or Paragraph/P Tag. Please be careful not to accidentally delete or change any code for it may result to an error in rendering the items on the website. In case it happens, just don’t save the changes — Hover your cursor to DONE on the upper left corner of the page and select “Discard Changes”.

  5. Before saving the changes, Squarespace automatically renders it on the page for you to review. After reviewing, you can save the changes.

Active Listings
  1. Go to Pages and select homepage (Home).

  2. Click EDIT at the upper left corner of the page.

  3. Click the Image Block and the Edit option will pop up on top of it.

  4. Select the Edit option with the pencil icon.

  5. The Content window will pop up to the right side of the Image block.

  6. Replace the existing/image of the previous listing by selecting REMOVE IMAGE and upload the new photo.

  7. For Link, select “On Image”.

  8. Make sure to select the property webpage where the user will be directed when the photo is clicked by clicking the ⚙️ Gear icon below “On Image” and the Link Editor window will pop up. Then, go to Page and search and select the property webpage URL.

  9. The IMAGE ALT TEXT should be the property address. — Ex. 123 Main St #4

  10. Go to Design, and make sure that Stack is selected, and the Animation is Collide.

  11. Click DONE and Save.

Note: If there are more listings, just add another Image Block and follow the same steps.

Neighborhoods
When The Neighborhood Page Is Ready to Be Published
  1. Check the list of Pages and you’ll see 2 Neighborhoods pages — One is in the MAIN NAVIGATION pages while the other is in the NOT LINKED pages.

  2. Swap the Neighborhoods pages by dragging them.

Updating Each Neighborhood Page
  1. The neighborhood pages can be found in the Neighborhoods List folder in the NOT LINKED pages.

  2. Go to the neighborhood page you want to update and click EDIT.

  3. Add the text in the text block.

Testimonials
  1. Go to Pages and select Testimonials from the Main Navigation pages.

  2. Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  3. At the top, add a Line block as a divider.

  4. If you have an image to include, add an Image Block. If none; then, a Text block will do.

  5. Add the title, client’s name and neighborhood separated by a pipe ( | ) symbol. — Ex. Jane Doe | Nob Hill

  6. Set the title as Heading 3 and testimonial as Paragraph 2.

  7. Click DONE and Save.

Creating a Property Web Page — For New Listings
Duplicating an Existing Property Web Page to Be Used as a Template
  1. After logging in to Maggie’s Squarespace Account, click or go to Pages.

  2. You will see the list of pages on the left side. Scroll down and you’ll see the Property Websites folder that contains all of Maggie’s property web pages including the Property Website Template.

  3. Click the ⚙️ Gear Icon located on the right side of the Property Website Template. (It appears when you hover your cursor over the page name.)

  4. The Page Settings window will pop up, under General, scroll to the bottom and click the DUPLICATE PAGE link, and click CONFIRM.

  5. The duplicate or newly created page will be located at the top of the list of the NOT LINKED pages.

  6. Rename the page with the property address, then drag the page inside the Property Websites folder. (Put it at the top of the list)

Updating/Adding the Contents (Video, Photos, Listing Copywriting, 2D Floor Plan, 3D Matterport, etc.)
  1. Make sure that you are on the property webpage that you will be working on by selecting/clicking it from the list of pages.

  2. Click the EDIT link located at the top left corner of the website preview window.

  3. Once you are on edit mode, the website preview window will be on full screen. Then, you can start making the changes or add contents to the page.

  4. After changing or adding a content, make sure to save it by hovering your cursor to the DONE link; then, click SAVE.

Page Title Header

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the header or text block to make changes — it should be set as Heading 1.

Banner Photo

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click/select the section where the header belongs.

  2. A list of options will pop up on the upper right corner of the section. Then, select the Edit Section (Pencil Icon - first icon from the left).

  3. Another window will pop up. Select Background.

  4. If there is an existing photo, select either REPLACE or DELETE; then, click the ADD AN IMAGE link and select the best interior photo of the property. Usually, the living room.

Property Description Header and Offer Price

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the header or text block to make changes — it should be set as Heading 3.

Sales Transaction Details

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Double click on the Code block below the OFFER PRICE.

  2. The Content window will pop up on the right side of the page.

  3. Delete the entire code that presents the sales transaction details of the previous property but KEEP the Code block as it will be used once the transaction closes.

Video

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the Embed Block below the VIDEO header.

  2. A list of options will pop up on the upper left corner of the Embed Block; then, select the edit/pencil icon.

  3. The Content box will appear on the right side of the page, copy the video URL, and paste it in the VIDEO URL field of the Content box.

Features

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the text block to make changes.

  2. Copy the listing copywriting (from Aerial Canvas) and paste it below the FEATURES header.

Features Image

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

    The image can be created on Canva.

  1. Click the Image Block below the listing copy writing.

  2. A list of options will pop up on the upper left corner of the Image block; then, select the edit/pencil icon.

  3. The Content box will appear on the right side of the page. If there is an existing photo, remove the image and upload what you created.

Highlights

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the text block to make changes.

  2. Copy the bullet points you or Maggie prepared and paste it under the HIGHLIGHTS header.

Amenities List

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Double click on the Code block below the HIGHLIGHTS and the Content window will pop up on right side of the page.

  2. Scroll down to Line 27 in the source code and you will see an item in the list of amenities enclosed in a List Tag (<li></li>).

  3. Replace the items enclosed in the list tag based on the list of amenities gathered for the Open House Marketing Material (Amenities Map).
    Ex. <li>Philz Coffee</li>

  4. Continue until all categories have been updated.

Photos

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click the Gallery Section below the PHOTOS header and a list of options will pop up on the right side of the section.

  2. Click on the first icon — Photo Icon and the Gallery window will pop up.

  3. Delete the existing photos and click the + plus sign to add photos.

  4. After adding the photos and closing the Gallery window, you may click the edit/pencil icon on the menu to access more settings on the gallery type, width, height, controls, options, and animations.

Floor Plan

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

    If there is only one image for the floor plan, you may delete the other Image Block.

  1. Click the Image Block below the FLOOR PLAN header.

  2. A list of options will pop up on the upper left corner of the Image block; then, select the edit/pencil icon.

  3. The Content box will appear on the right side of the page. If there is an existing photo, remove the image and upload the floor plan.


  4. FOR PROPERTIES WITH MORE THAN 1 LEVEL – MULTIPLE FLOOR PLAN IMAGES

  5. If there is only one Image Block on your template, you can add another image block by clicking the + plus sign either at the top or bottom of the Image Block; then, select Image.

  6. After uploading the 2nd floor plan, you may drag the Image Block to the right side of the 1st floor plan image to position them side-by-side.

3D Virtual Tour (3D Matterport)

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the Embed Block below the 3D VIRTUAL TOUR header.

  2. A list of options will pop up on the upper left corner of the Embed Block; then, select the edit/pencil icon.

  3. The Content box will appear on the right side of the page, copy the 3D Matterport URL and paste it in the Content box.

Location

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the Map Block and a list of options will pop up on the upper left corner.

  2. Click on the edit/pencil icon and the Content and Design window will appear on the right side of the page.

  3. Enter the property street address on the BUSINESS NAME field. — Ex. 123 Main St

  4. Enter the property street address on the ADDRESS field. — Ex. 123 Main St
    The list of addresses with same street address all over the US will appear. Make sure to select the correct address to populate the remaining fields (CITY, STATE, ZIP CODE, and COUNTRY).

Open House Schedule

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the text block to make changes.

  2. Make sure to press Enter first before writing the schedule. This is to create a space above the text which gives a better format on mobile view.

  3. Use the format below: [Saturday Open, Sunday Open, Twilight Open]

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Click on the Form Block and a list of options will pop up on the upper left corner.

  2. Click on the edit/pencil icon and the Content window will appear on the right side of the page.

  3. Go to Storage and add Maggie’s email to the Email field.

  4. Make sure that Google reCAPTCHA at the bottom is On.

Property Web Page SEO Settings
  1. Click the ⚙️ Gear Icon located on the left side of page name. (It appears when you hover your cursor over the page name.)

  2. Go to SEO.

  3. On the SEO TITLE (OPTIONAL) field, enter the property street address and property description header separated by the pipe character |
    Ex. 123 Main St #4 | Modern Lifestyle With City Views

  4. On the SEO DESCRIPTION (OPTIONAL) field, since it is only limited to 400 characters, copy and paste a portion of the listing copywriting. Usually, the first few sentences that best describe the property and end it with “Visit the page to know more about this listing.”

  5. Make sure to click SAVE.

Enable/Disable the Property Webpage

    Note: Enable the page when the listing goes live.

  1. Click the ⚙️ Gear Icon located on the left side of page name. (It appears when you hover your cursor over the page name.)

  2. Under General, below the URL SLUG, you can toggle to enable or disable the page.

  3. Make sure to click SAVE.

Updating the Property Web Page — After Transaction has Closed

    Note: Make sure you are on Edit mode.

  1. Double click on the Code block below the OFFER PRICE and the Content window will pop up on right side of the page.

  2. Copy and paste the code below to the Content box, and update highlighted items:

  4. Lastly, delete the Open House schedules.

Adding a Recent Sale
  1. Go to Pages and scroll down to the bottom of the list.

  2. Select the Recent Sales Blog Page.

  3. On the upper left side of the page, click the + plus sign to add a blog post and it will set you on Edit mode to add the contents of your blog.

  4. Add the property street address as the title. — Ex. 123 Main St #4


  5. Maggie represented the Listing side:

    • Copy and paste the listing copy writing on the text block.

    • Add a Gallery Block below the text and the Content window will pop up on the right side of the page.

    • Upload the listing photos and arrange them according to the order they were uploaded in the MLS. (Drag and drop)

    • After uploading the photos, go the Design section and follow the settings below:

      • Grid

      • Aspect Ratio=1.1 Square

      • ✔ Crop Images

      • Thumbnails per row depends on the number of photos

      • Padding around the gridded images=10


    Maggie represented the Buy side:

    • Add an Image Block and upload a photo of the property. (Get from MLS or Compass)

    • Delete the text block.


  6. After adding the photos and property description, make sure to click SAVE at the upper left side of the page.

  7. On the list of blogs, click the … three dots beside the title; then, go to SETTINGS and he Blog Post Settings window will pop up.

  8. Under Content, upload the best photo of the property as the FEATURED IMAGE.

  9. Copy, paste, and edit the items below for the EXCERPT:

    • POTRERO HILL

    • Sale Price: $1,000,000

    • Closed on 1/1/2022


  11. Check the post URL and make sure that it is the property street address — each word is separated with a dash – Ex. /recent-sales/123-main-st-4

  12. If Maggie represented the listing side, add the URL to the property web page on the SOURCE URL field and enable the Link Post Title to Source URL. If Maggie represented the buy side, add the URL of transaction from Compass as the SOURCE URL.

  13. Go to Options > Status. Make sure that “Published” is selected/checked and set the Published date & time.

  14. Then, click Back and select Tags. By writing the # pound sign, it will give you the list of available tags. Select the appropriate tag based on where the sale price belongs.

  15. Then, click Back and select categories. You need to add the Recent Sales category, neighborhood, side, and year sold.

  17. Once done, make sure to click SAVE.

Adding a Newsletter Blog
  1. Go to Pages and scroll down to the bottom of the list.

  2. Select the Main Blog page.

  3. On the upper left side of the page, click the + plus sign to add a blog post and it will set you on Edit mode to add the contents of your blog.

  4. Use the title on Maggie’s newsletter as the blog title.

  5. Hover your cursor to the Text Block and click the + plus sign; then, add a Code Block.

  6. The Content window will pop up on the right side of the page. Copy and paste the HTML code of the newsletter from Compass.

  7. Delete the text block below.

  8. Make sure to click SAVE on the upper left corner of the page.

  9. In the blogs list, Click the … three dots beside the blog title and select Settings.

  10. The Blog Post Settings window will pop up. Under Content, upload the banner/cover photo of Maggie’s newsletter.

  11. Go to Options > Status. Make sure that “Published” is selected/checked and set the Published date & time.

  12. If it is a “Market Minute”, Go to Options -> Categories. Add the “Market News” category. Else, you may proceed to Save the changes.
